ON WINNING ASC
Reflecting on the experience of winning the Australian Singing Competition fills me with deep gratitude and humility. This award is more than a personal achievement; it represents the countless hours of dedication, the highs and lows, and the invaluable guidance of those who supported me along the way. The journey of the competition was a powerful reminder that success is rarely a solo endeavor. I owe so much to my mentors, friends, family, and all the inspiring artists who encouraged me and raised the bar for excellence.
The competition itself was both exhilarating and humbling—sharing the stage with such talented singers made it clear just how high the standard of performance is. It taught me resilience, trust in my own voice, and how to embrace imperfections as part of the art.
This award has not only boosted my confidence, but also opened up incredible opportunities to continue evolving as an artist. The entire experience has been a gift, and it fills me with excitement for what lies ahead.
INVALUABLE LESSONS
One of the most invaluable lessons I’ve learned from this experience is the power of perseverance. Many people might not know that this is actually my second time entering the competition. Last year, I was knocked out at the Semi-Finals, which, being my first competition, left me feeling defeated. But with the unwavering support of my teachers, I found the strength to give it another shot.
This journey has shown me that life always gives us what we need, even if it’s not what we want at the time. Looking back, I realize that if I hadn’t faced the disappointment of last year, I wouldn’t have had the fire, determination, or the hunger to push myself as hard as I did this year. That setback was, in fact, a gift in disguise—it prepared me, gave me experience, and made me more resilient.
What I’ve come to believe is that one of the biggest obstacles to success is yourself. Once you choose to get out of your own way, you unlock the potential to achieve anything.

TIP FOR FUTURE APPLICANTS
Work hard on mastering your repertoire, technique, and acting skills, but devote even more energy to cultivating a resilient, positive mindset. True artistry flows from a mind that is both disciplined and open. Spend intentional hours in the practice room, preparing until every note feels like second nature. Then, when you step onto the stage, allow yourself to let go of technique and rules, and simply be present. Give yourself the freedom to express fully and connect with the music and your audience in a way that is alive, authentic, and uniquely yours.
BEYOND ASC
I am currently auditioning for opera programs and young artist positions around the world, with the goal of relocating to Europe in September 2025. Until then, I plan to stay in Australia and work really hard with my wonderful team of coaches to prepare repertoire, study roles, and hopefully gain additional stage experience here in Australia. This time will be a chance to hone my craft, build my skills, and ensure that I am ready to take on the new opportunities that lie ahead.
