Suor Angelica has been a dream role of mine since I sang the role of Suor Genovieffa at Covent Garden opposite the incredible Ermonela Jaho as Angelica. It was the most heart rendering experience of my time as a Jette Parker Young Artist watching her bare her soul for us each performance, resulting in our entire cast and audience in tears.

Playing the role of a woman who loses her child must be one of the most heart breaking things someone can perform. In the rehearsal room I had to allow myself to go to the point where I couldn't sing properly because of how much the emotion had impacted upon me, then I had to learn how to get just below this point on stage - the balance between committing to a role and showing vulnerability, whilst still singing properly is a very fine line which I have definitely learnt over the past few months.

“I would just tell everyone to pack their tissues - for both tears of happiness and sadness.”
